My takeaways:
1) Dogma is easy to construct without noticing. Intellectually check yourself before you wreck yourself.
2) Treat people as individuals, not their groups
3) Be diplomatic: being perceived as a crusader gains you zero buy-in.

I really hope this is more than just supporting Dem party bullshit. I feel like talking about volunteering just for getting democrats elected is a failure to see where we're at and what's needed. Our current situation is a lot worse than party politics can solve.
