It's not directly commodity fetishism and brown-nosing people who dress fancy.

It's the difference between a civil trial and a criminal trial.

Joe vs Jane and Joe vs the State.

Criminal trials are stacked against you in ways that civil trials are not.

Something which happens sometimes is that there is a problem and the problem facilitates background issues of sexism, racism or whatever but the problem isn't specifically sexism, racism or whatever.

IDK I suppose it's an issue with superstructure.

The weird thing about the imperial core is that the individualists are communists and the collectivists are liberals.

Just how things shakeout with respect to consensus and so on. Not meant to be insulting.

I think the depressing reality of liberal feminism is that white women needed a social-fascist phase in order to industrialize. Liberal feminism is about as fascist as FDR's New Deal which is kind of a lot actually.

IDK.

IDK I'm kind of skeptical that can USAian workers can meaningfully fight against imperialism.

I think a large part of imperialism emerges from on the ground labor relations as much as the superstructure on top which protects them.
November 10, 2025 at 9:57 PM
idk so it's something like

remnants of slavery: struggle against commercial profit
remnants of feudalism: struggle against groundrent

Basically, you want to build roads like you're the Roman Empire in order to eliminate slavery.
November 10, 2025 at 9:12 PM
idk I think de-Balkanization is maybe one of the more important things to do in the periphery.

Fundamentally, you want to decrease arbitrage and the costs of trade within the periphery.

You can't get around building roads and trains.

It's perverse but maybe the right balance to strike with a mixed economy is to permit intellectual monopoly rent but to nationalize finance, land and industry.

This way you would attract scientists to the country, the state buying patents and so on.

I kind of doubt Wikipedia here. But it seems more like serfdom than slavery IMO. Maybe kind of like sharecropping. Some weird transitional form.

" The slave-owning form of exploitation constantly destroyed the basic productive force of this society, the slaves. The struggle of the slaves against harsh forms of exploitation was more and more frequently expressed in armed risings."

Reminds me of USA-Canada.

Honestly, it's the interaction between capitalism and the slave mode of production which really fucks things over.

Semi-feudalism doesn't really describe the dynamics of chattel slavery.

IDK I need to think through the economics more here.
November 10, 2025 at 7:16 PM
Sometimes I worry that capitalism is still in its historically progressive phase. I do think we're seeing the sprouts of socialism in many places worldwide. But I just think you have to take the underdevelopment of the periphery into account.
November 10, 2025 at 6:55 PM
Thinking about fascism and social imperialism. I'm probably wrong about FDR but here's my guess.
November 10, 2025 at 5:42 PM
I've been thinking about the historically progressive American civil war.

I suppose the textile industry needed more cotton and other resource extraction than the Southern landlords could provide with slavery.
November 10, 2025 at 2:50 PM
Anyhow so a lot of capitalism was bootstrapped off of the colonization of Ireland and Turtle Island.

So capitalism began as a Catholic/Protestant, Jewish/Christian and pagan/Christian split with colonialism and then gradually proto-eugenics and racism developed.
Kind of an odd side tangent to argue whether socialism is more white or Christian I guess. I'm just stuck thinking about it though.

I would argue that the utopian socialism predating Marxian socialism is ultimately rooted in feudal criticism of the emerging white capitalism.

Interesting stuff. Still thinking through it.

As a commie, the Inuit workers should own the mining MoP.

The food sovereignty stuff is a more complicated technical issue rooted in the town and country contradiction.

Chuck Schumer and the Democratic establishment, fascist collaborators. 👍

Republicans are actual evil, but this will never improve until people stop acting surprised every time they do this and start recognizing that Democrats aren't your friends.
I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

idk I'm leaning towards revolutionary defeatism wrt political parties in the imperial core but it still seems dickish.

Politics is war and in an inter-imperialist war one should strive for revolutionary defeatism.

USAian party politics tends to shake out along the town and country contradiction. Due to unique quirks of domestic imperialism, the rural areas are the "town" draining wealth from the racialized inner city which is the "country". The situation has become more confusing overtime though.

It seems to me that the essential nucleating agent of organization in the palace (imperial core) will be anti-imperialism. Although you can definitely get weird about it, anti-imperialism (and particularly wrt the town [semi-periphery]) seems like where to start with the palace.

I'm kind of skeptical of pedagogy studies to an extent because IMO the central problem is knowledge production and intellectual monopoly rent.

It's through labor monopolies that the class of the intelligentsia are produced who propagate ruling class ideas.
