These fables would find links to the devil and unknown things lurking in the night. In short, vampires walked onto the scene and were one of the first tales of folklore shown in early cinema; popularly with Nosferatu.

Referring to folklore, Germanic fables grew in popularity in the Dark Ages with authors such as Jacob Grimm. The focus of these fables were centered around religion and mental struggles and trials of mankind. (Britannica, 2020)
