A rally against federal funding cuts and layoffs made by President Trump’s administration brought more than 1,000 people to the New Haven Green on Saturday.

Hundreds of thousands of people were estimated to have participated in “Hands Off” rallies around the country.

Connecticut lawmakers on both sides of the aisle say they’re bracing for changes to Medicaid under President-elect Donald Trump’s administration.

Federal authorities say the drones don’t pose a threat.

But Blumenthal said the agencies should be more forthcoming about what they’re doing to study them. He echoed Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s calls for drone-specific radar in the region:

Acting Bpt. Superintendent Avery has inherited a district in turmoil. A recent union survey revealed that 80% of teachers had considered leaving the district, which is running at a $38 million deficit.

Fmr. Bridgeport Superintendent Carmela Levy-Davis is no longer with the district.

Levy-David leaves the post amid controversy. In October, 97% of Bridgeport teachers who responded to a union survey about her leadership said they had no confidence in her.
