Very much so! At least anecdotally and qualitatively, yes it’s aspirational politics. And it’s one of individual aspirations and not group or collective aspiration. It often comes off as cutthroat or zero sum to me.

Doing some major thesis edits and rewrites this week. Hoping this helps some!! If people can have the confidence to write slop proudly then surely I can muster a squeak of confidence to finish this paper.
