Schiff should have said: "Trump is a convicted criminal. It is a crime to rape women, it is a crime to threaten jail time for his opponents, it is a crime to lead an insurrection. This is a criminal leading a group of criminals and frauds. And criminals, even if they win an election, are bad for democracy. This man and everyone he associates with are corrupt and will continue to corrupt our country, our moral and legal fabric. Here’s the Washington Post this morning on Trump’s new tariff announcement:

President-elect Donald Trump said Monday he will issue executive orders imposing new tariffs on all imported goods from China, Mexico and Canada, the nation’s three largest trading partners, as one of his first acts upon reentering the White House. He said 25 percent tariffs would be imposed on Mexican and Canadian merchandise and 10 percent on Chinese goods as part of a plan aimed at stopping an “invasion” of drugs and migrants into the country. Economists have warned that American consumers would face higher prices on goods because of the proposed tariffs.

Trump says he will issue executive order to char... 236 upvotes 58 comments we're going to see some ugly price spikes for the next couple of years. The constitution is very clear that any raising of revenue is supposed to come from the House of Representatives. The president was never supposed to be able to levy a tax unilaterally. That is the power of a king which the president is not. Congress unconstitutionally delegating this power along with many others is something conservatives especially . Reply2196 through the state legislatures need to oppose vehemently regardless of who the president is. ReformedishBaptist . 32m Conservative I like Trump but I do not like the tariff idea at all especially in mass use. I like what people ironically like Ron Paul and other libertarian economists have said, lowering taxes, lowering government spending tenfold, and cutting regulations to naturally bring in companies to produce goods and services here rather than forcing them to come here which still puts them at a loss. There's an organic way to do this and hope Trump sees it

Farmer told the newspaper she's always identified as "pretty pro-life"-but she found
herself seeking abortion care, anyway, even calling her state senator's office to seek
help. She didn't find it.
The office of her state senator, a Republican named Bill White, told her the state ban
that was literally jeopardizing her life was actually "designed to protect the woman's
life." Farmer recalled telling White's aide, "It's not protecting me .... There's no chance
for a baby; she's not going to make it. It's putting my life in danger." She continued,
"I'm 41, it's not something I can recover from quickly. I could lose my uterus, there's a
lot of things that could happen. We just want to move on, we just want to grieve."
White's office promised it would talk to the state's Attorney General Eric Schmitt on
her behalf and then connected Farmer with an anti-abortion crisis pregnancy center
in the state. Farmer never heard from White's staff again.

I (22F) have been dating this guy (24M) for eight months, and he lied about his political views. He said he was liberal, voted for Kamala, and was pro-choice, but I found messages on his phone where he and his friend were celebrating Trump’s win.

When I confronted him, he admitted he lied because he knew I wouldn’t give him a chance otherwise. He even said he thought I’d “forgive him because women do that for men they love.” I feel violated, this person swore up and down that he cared about woman’s rights and the rights of minorities. He told me he would support me if I ever wanted an abortion. He hates immigrants even though my parents were immigrants, he is very pro life. I’ve lost all respect for him, and I’m scared of ever letting a man get close to me again. I’ve been crying all day and I can’t help but feel disgusting.

I’m a minority, I’m a woman, I don’t come from money, he’s white, a man and comes form a well off background, ofc he doesn’t get to worry about politics, ofc politics aren’t a big deal to him. WHY TF WOULDN’T I AS A CHILD OF IMMIGRANTS NOT BE DEEPLY HURT TO REALISE THE PERSON I THOUGHT LOVED ME IS A FUCKING TRUMP SUPPORTER.

I’m done. I’m packing my stuff, leaving in a few days, and blocking him everywhere. No explanation—he wasted my time.

Why do so many Gen Z men lie about their beliefs just to date someone? Why don’t they just go for women that share the same views as them. Why create an entire facade. And worst of all why do they freak out when they get dumped?

EDIT: thank you to all of the people who understood where I’m coming from and my worries, I refuse to be with a man who hates people like me.
