Once the concern was wealthy individuals influencing policy, now the ultra wealthy are in the position to be the sole funder of a political movement.

We can’t let them view political parties like a yacht or island to add to their collection. We need to put a cap on their power.

This is neither here nor there, but because this came up in a random conversation yesterday, and sometimes I think everyone could use a distraction of something fun and entertaining mixed in with your doomscrolling, here is the best card trick ever performed on TV. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_Kc...

Even if it were just extreme NSFW accounts, that still wouldn't be okay. As long as it's legal NSFW content, it's NOT. THEIR. JOBS. to police or censor it.
I keep seeing people trying to play down the payment processor situation, saying it's only the extreme NSFW accounts getting sacked.

Well. One of the cutest SFW furry artist got banned from PayPal. What more proof do y'all need that we need to keep fighting the good fight?

Also go support Nakufin.
I'm devastated, if I don't find an alternative that works with argentinians I'm contemplating the worst, I can't do regular jobs, art was my job for around 15 years
I don't do nsfw even when people insist me to
my life was already crumbling and now I don't know what to do

I truly believe human beings love to be busy, for the most part.
We love to occupy ourselves with tasks, and work on things, and overall contribute to something. Big or small.

This is why I fucking hate people who argue against UBI and welfare, because they believe humans are lazy.

Remember when the internet wasn't awful? We can go back to that.

Some friends and I have released the Resonant Computing Manifesto: a call to bring back such a time, to see if we can bring back a world where technology works for us, rather than against us.

Defense Contractor Lobbyists Are Trying To Kill Army ‘Right To Repair’ Reforms With A Bunch Of Lies And Bullshit
So we've noted repeatedly how there's a real push afoot to implement statewide "right to repair" laws that try to make it cheaper, easier, and environmentally friendlier for you to repair the technology you own. Unfortunately, while all fifty states have at least flirted with the idea, only Massachusetts, New York, Minnesota, Colorado, California, and Oregon, and Washington have actually passed laws.

I also like the example that if you had UBI to fall back on, people would be more willing to risk starting a business. I imagine two friends starting a bakery in their kitchen.

Basically, they're trying to pull another Prohibition on us, but on a larger/stupider level. These age verification and internet "safety bills" won't protect kids. They'll only shred our free speech and privacy, pushing users into dangerous territories. #SaveSpeech

“I promise you, NCOSE would gleefully move to silence many RIAA-label supported artists, claiming their music is "obscene" and must be stopped. It would be nice if artists on RIAA labels spoke up about how they feel about the RIAA supporting NCOSE's attacks on speech.”
Excuse me what? The RIAA is now funding NCOSE to file bullshit amicus briefs before the Supreme Court?!?

That is way more fucked up than even usual RIAA nonsense.

Let me explain...

So, that Discord data breach? The headlines *should* have focused on the Age Verification angle.

It affected a 3rd party service Discord uses for Age Verification appeals.

It took 3 months from the start of the UKs OSA age checks for the first known data leak.
