George! Thank you Gilly!
He joined my cousin's tiny sailing boat at first light, 500 miles off the coast of Bermuda and heading to the UK... we'll see how long he sticks around 🙏

Leigh Bowery’s diary is not entirely as I’d anticipated - which I suppose is exactly right…

messaging old friends with memories of seeing Eraserhead, Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart at the cinema together - hard to explain now how thrilling it was to be seventeen and to fall in that space. All our changes were there.

Peter Kennard’s Filofax, recto and verso.

It is just as you’d imagine.

this is in my little pile I‘ve been building all year, to read at Christmas when art stops for a fortnight 🙏

in 2020 I persuaded my kid and his mates to give up 'modern life' for lent...they loved it (but I guess they knew that the playstation was waiting, down the line)

one of the sketchbook pages not on display in the Mike Kelley exhibition at Tate Modern - this was one of my favourites.

I'm planning a session exploring artworks via touch and smell. For the invitations I'd like to capture some Turner sketchbook scent in tiny glass vials - is this likely possible? If I left the smelliest book in a sealed plexi box for a while with an open vial would some scent just sort of fall in?

here's a nice little touch/memory example I found in the Silver Jews song 'I remember me', that you maybe know of - I played it on a loop when I first came across it

what just happened? Exhausted and a little stunned waking up this morning post-Mike Kelley install at Tate Modern...

Applauding the registrars, art handlers, technicians and conservators who helped make it happen - what an astonishing team we have.

prompted by @jeremymillar.bsky.social’s recent Turner tweet I got this out for a closer look. The light brown splodge - I like to think he dipped his finger in the bloody waves and just splatted it on the paper.
A Harpooned Whale 1845 JMW Turner. Graphite and watercolour on paper. Tate collection.
