Dude being in art school is pain. Why do I enjoy doing this thing that’s hurting me mentally and physically? I don’t even post anything I make because it’s all done so desperately and so quickly that I hardly feel like it’s indicative of my actual artistic ability. Ee-yowch!

Sometimes it’s funny to draw and play as the most evil guy you can think of. This is a nasty vile oil baron whose blood was replaced with, whose heart he himself removed to replace with a burning engine. Oh, and then he ran out of gas so he decayed a little until he got more in the tank.
A wickedly cruel delight stretches across the rotting face of a zombie like man in a brown suit with a shining bolo tie. A tube connects his chest to his cheek, allowing him respiration. The left half of his face is made of exposed flesh and bone covered by metallic plating and rubber insulation, and two spark plugs stick out the top of his head. His remaining hair is slicked back, and half a mustache curls over his evil smile. He tents his fingers before himself as smog spews from his machinery.

Another digital collage I did, this being inspired by the Chariot major arcana, which symbolizes purposefulness, determination. I’ll probably take… forever to do the rest of the major arcana, but it was a fun idea nonetheless!
The Chariot Tarot card, depicted in a different style than traditional tarot design. Instead of a covered carriage, there is a red Shinto gate overlooking a waterfall. A woman with one mechanical arm in a red robe sits peacefully, her hands aligned to direct her energy forward in determination. She is supported by two carp, one black and one white, whose opposing forces are brought under her control and intention. Behind her is stark vegetation, and behind that, the beautiful starry sky, and a spiral contrail of cloud.

Digital collage! This is from one of the voyages of Sinbad, where he gets enslaved by the old man of the sea and forced to wander around an island until he gets the wise idea to trick him into drinking himself silly on palm wine.
A colorful piece in which a younger, bearded man carries a much older, skinnier bearded man on his shoulders. They’re in a tropical environment, surrounded by foliage and greenery. The younger man, Sinbad, has spotted alcoholic wine gourds in the top of a palm tree, while the older man has not yet noticed his idea forming.

A werewolf in ripped jeans, a spiky vest, and shoes that his toes are absolutely blasting out of. He wears sunglasses and has a scar across his nose and over one of his eyes. He wears a collar with a heart shaped tag on it, and a mesh tank top under the vest. He is next to his drum set, which he plays using two bones that he habitually chews. A man with the head of a devil carries a microphone. His belt is covered in spikes, he has a beard on his chin as pointy as his horns, and his eyes are perpetually narrowed into a mischievous squint. He wears revealing clothes and converse style sneakers with upside down stars on the ankles. His hair is wild, long, and shaggy, shooting out backward from a prominent widows peak.

Boogie-Man is a guitarist with unfinished business— to rock and thrash for all eternity. He can’t quite talk, only really moan and wail, but usually that’s enough during performances. He loves to be the main event, but is tragically translucent and often blends into the background.
A nasty, ghastly ghoul with glasses and a dried up face. His hair is long and greasy, perfect for headbanging, and he wears a set of opaque glasses that hide his haunting eyes. His wrists remain shackled with the bonds of death, and his flowing ghostly attire is rolled up at the sleeves to expose his striped arms. His guitar is made from a headstone, likely his own.

Second bandmate is a frankentechie named Issa Live.
A short, angular, stitched together woman with a pillar of hair that ends in a spiked explosion at the top. She wears baggy clothes that give her outline an almost hourglass look, if the hourglass started at her shirt cuffs and ended at her feet. Her shoes are chunky sneakers, and for extra technical proficiency she’s attached several additional fingers to hit all the knobs she needs. One of her eyes bugs out of her head in an unblinking stare.

Did a series of character designs for a halloween-feeling band of monster characters, this is the bassist Morgan Fade.
A tall, cute witch character with goth aesthetics and spider-like motifs. Her hair is shaved on the sides of her head, making a mullet of angular and spiked forms. She wears a skirt with sticks coming out the bottom, big knee high boots, and arm warmers with flowing cuffs. Her hat is crooked, and banded by a spiderweb. Her bass guitar is a broom, and she wears dark makeup in a horizontal band over her eyes. She has painted her lips black.

Oscar is a professional. So what if his apish strength and brutality is used to the end of unscrupulous murder? He’s good at what he does. Only, for the first time in his career, he’s left a loose end. That phone line was active, the operator HEARD him working. Looks like the job isn’t finished.

Latifah is a slow loris working as a telephone operator in Egypt in the 1930’s, when her station with an emergency message— there’s a murderer in the building. Unfortunately, before any of the details of the killer can be described, the caller is surreptitiously bludgeoned. Who could have done it?
A short, physically unimposing rodent/primate-like character wearing a fez, a suit jacket, and a long skirt. She’s depicted in a variety of distressed poses, lit in a very film-noir style with high contrast lights and shadows. Her rather squishable face implies a vulnerability, as though she would be smashed flat like a pancake if anyone struck her. She seems busy with the investigation, likely out of self-preservation, and her form and design takes a rather comedic bend despite the dire circumstances.

Character evolution, I like this lighting style
Three versions of the same character as he grows from a ten year old boy to an elder man, starting out precocious and training for strength, then violently powerful as an adult, and finally peacefully living in old age (if a little out of shape).

Ink style practice, I really liked this pose. Plus I always enjoy working with analogue pen and paper (even if I had a migraine while working on this the entire time).
An inked portrait of a savage, wolf-like human perched precariously on a tree branch, prepared to pounce. They are lean and impossibly long-limbed. The inking style emphasizes shading through form-following linework rather than all-blacks, and the piece is populated by mild spatters of ink throughout.

Hey I’m still alive, just experiencing 2025 like everyone else and that gets pretty tiring. But anyways I did a project a little while ago where I came up with several character designs for some random associated words, the words I got being Beetle and Planet. Good creatures!
Six (or more like five and a half) character designs for celestial-looking beetle-like creatures. The first is the least rendered, as well as the most literally insectoid, as it grasps planets in its talons. The second is bulbous and massive, with more humanoid but still exoskeletal arms and a much more stylized face, its carapace seemingly made from desolate planet surface. The third is extremely round, practically a planet itself, guiding a ring of celestial objects around it. The fourth is pill shaped, and sports a beard which two of its four arms caress thoughtfully, and a series of glowing orbs hover around its rounded starry top as it stands upright. The fifth is basically just a roly poly bug cuddling a sun, with several planets orbiting it. The last is much more cartoonish, with exaggerated humanoid eyes, feet that appear like ringed planets, and a rounded backside adorned with soft pointed stars.
