Nothing I have ever read has scared me as much as the description of the sound of the chains dragging up the stairs did when I read it as a kid lol

you know what, this may just be an appalachian thing bc we’re known for being really casual about death lol

my mom told me growing up we’re celebrating their life so we shouldn’t wear black. still, I always wear mostly black and dark colors. but none of the families of funerals I’ve been to have been wearing dark colors even, so it also feels weird too to look like I’m out-grieving the family? oh well
