"the war on Gaza—and Israel's entire colonial project in Palestine—is not only produced through geopolitical relations but generative of them." 👌

The moral case for the Israel Football Association's suspension from football is horrifically self-evident, but important to stress there are very clear grounds for their exclusion in the UEFA and FIFA statutes. Joint letter to UEFA from Bohemians, Irish Sport for Palestine and FairSquare 👇

Germany and Italy need more time to consider whether Israel should be denied *partial access* to the Horizon Europe research fund.

More time in the face of daily Palestinian deaths from bullets and starvation.

More time to mildly sanction a State accused of genocide by Israeli NGOs this week.

I think the fundamental error in this piece is imagining that there is some inherent tension between Starmer the human rights lawyer, and Starmer the ruthless bourgeois state manager.

And like, I don't think that's what's going on?

The long read: Many of his supporters hoped the prime minister would restore the UK’s commitment to international law. Yet Labour’s record over the past year has been curiously mixed

Migrants are subject to hypervisibility & invisibility - this manifests in a specific way in UK law & policy, which is most obvious from the Rwanda plan. This however connects to a longer history of deterrence & characterisation of asylum seekers as 'destitute'

27 people — including a priest, professor and health workers — were arrested today under terrorism laws.

Their crime? Peacefully holding signs opposing genocide.

We have had a report saying two women walking up to a protest today at BAe Samlesbury were stopped by Lancashire Police and advised to remove their t-shirts that say 'Free Palestine', as it may "breach the proscription order".

And so it begins.

this was very clearly a likely consequence of proscribing a pro Palestine group.

Ignorance, opportunism and govt goals all working together here to chill speech and end freedoms.

The Terrorism Act-the basis for discriminatory executive UK powers/policy since 2000-has @ 25 come of age, its remarkably wide definition & extraordinary exec powers put to the authoritarian purpose of proscribing an anti-war direct action group & criminalising the views of a big proportion of UK.

The UK definition of terrorism is sweeping and gives way too much discretion to the executive.

When that executive is irresponsible. that's dangerous.

Starmer and Cooper's move to proscribe Palestine Action is just bad and pretty damn worrying.
