So far, the Republicans have no appetite, as a whole body, to actually do this. The consequences if Dems ever take a majority is a real threat.

How the heck does a child understand the step to apologize, and most adults don't?

1. Acknowledge the person you hurt, fully.
2. Say you are sorry, and be sincere.
3. Correct your behavior to avoid harming others in the future.

Is Catholicism genetic?

It was as if she walked into my confession box to confess she ran over my dog.
The intensity!

"Thou are released from your mortal debt, OH, child of God! 5 hail Mary's for every time you struck your sippy cup upon the kitchen floor. Peace be with you."

Okay, I've had toddlers rage when corrected. I've had toddlers cry. I've had them laugh at me. I've had them nod and wander off.

Never have I had a child express honest contrition.

SNAP benefits everyone!

So... can we AT LEAST be selfish if we can't be empathetic.

Don't shơot yourself in the face because the idea of a poor person buying cookies upsets you.
(BTW, our farmers love that SNAP recipients buy cookies from companies that buy their farmed products.)

I would rather pay the whomping $36 a year in taxes so people can buy food; even junk food; than paying $1000s extra at the grocer a year and no one benefit, especially not me.

RAISE PRICES!! They just lost 12% of their revenue.

So if this gets drawn out much longer, the average America is about to pay 12% or more extra at the check-out.

So, if you don't want your dollars being wasted to feed ingrates, you are about to be spending MORE to not feed them.

Basically, with SNAP, a HUGE amount of food gets processed into the supply chain instead of rotting.

This also means the grocer makes money. And they've been used to making this money.

About 12% of all grocery sales are through SNAP. Without SNAP, what do you think the shops are going to do?

In the past, the government would just buy up the food.

EI: the "government cheese" phenomenon.

But, there was a way to feed people, supplement the food producer industry, and less food rots in the field. ... SNAP!!!!
