Crafting tip:
If you take 2 long steel nails, bend them into Us with plyers, then wind them around each other, or solder them to each other like a star, you can get the cutest metal stars. Tough ones, too.

Watch out, though. The points of the stars are a bit sharp. Keep out of reach of children.

Reminder:

Don't read the comments.

Most of the profiles posting mind-numbingly ignorant and hateful comments aren't even human. They are bots.

1000s of profiles, mimicking the voice of one person, all to make you angry, tired, and useless.

Don't piss into the wind; stay out of the comments.

I was seeing commercials from political pacs using Trump's voice over-dubbing... umm... it is AI.
They are using AI to make him say whatever the hell they want.

Could we at least get a law saying you HAVE to disclose when you use AI?

I'm kind of confused at this point when politicians say, "protest peacefully, don't give Trump a reason to misalign you or give him what he wants".

Y'all, they just shọt a widow in the face. There is no "behaving" well enough to avoid abuse.

DV survivors understand this dynamic.

Having children right now feels like a protest--a protest in favor of an actual future.
January 8, 2026 at 3:40 PM
If you think a midterm or an impeachment trial can fix this, you are mistaken about what the actual problem is.

The best thing about 45/47's falsehood-laced post about the outrageous killing of a widow is that he's is still in the Epstein files.

And now another turning of the screw.

National Guards might be called into Minneapolis, at the governor's request.
They won't be there to protect ICE.

Turning of the screw

That ICE agent also almost shot the other ICE officer. Like, do they even train them?

I can't anymore, I'm going to snap.

It isn't German chocolate cake.
It is German's chocolate cake.

It is not from Germany. It is an American dessert.

It is named after Samuel German, the creator of the chocolate used to make the cake.

German's**

It has been misunderstood for too long.

No other president was willing to point at which picture is the lion and to doodle a little clock with hands pointing to 2:30.

So brave.
What does it mean when your doctors keep insisting you redo the cognitive exam

Survivors' bias is also saying things like "they used to build houses better back in the day" and not realize you think that because only the well-built houses can survive 150yrs.
The vast majority of 1900 cracker houses are no longer standing because they sucked.

I just had bloodwork done.

I was told I need to get a chickenpox vaccine to continue with my doctor's treatment. (There are too many newborn babies and delicate pregnant women at this clinic.)

I had chickenpox as a kid, so I thought I had antibodies against it. Nope.

Science done Scienced me .

The absolute tantrum people have when you refuse to give them an argument.

I just told someone, " I think you're a bad person, so I don't think it's productive to continue this conversation."

They freaked!

But it was so freeing. I get to walk away and be happy, they get to be miserable alone.

The leading causes of death for children in the USA:

1. Firearms
2. Suicide/death from risky behavior.
3. Homicide

These aren't normal things kids are supposed to die of.
Illness, natural disasters, and accidents make sense. Not intentional violence.

As a society, I'm concerned.

My husband, who used to box and had to quit in his 20s because he has a glass jaw, looked at Jake Paul during the Mike Tyson fight and said, "I can tell from the shape of his face that kid has a glass jaw."

Somehow, the old man was right.

My surgery couldn't have gone any better. YAY!

I came home to find handmade chocolates and Christmas cookies on my front step.

My friends are better than your friends. #sorrynotsorry

Aging is watching It's a Wonderful Life at 40 and thinking, "Jimmy Stewart can get it."

I had this realization with Daniel Stern last Christmas while watching Home Alone.

What is happening to me and my poor aging bones.

I'm at that "you AND your dad are looking good" age.

How are you a doormat for someone who doesn't have any contact with you?

They aren't talking to you or asking for anything.

I'm watching an old episode of Ink Master, and I can't help but notice that the minute Kyle Dunbar shoved Chris Núñez the judges started cooling the tone of their criticism.
The temperature of those criticisms was gradually becoming more and more aggressive and unhelpful.

If anyone wants to know the state of the American Healthcare system:

My last uterine surgery, I was given an IBprophen and one Xanax.

If you need something to bite down on, like you were an injured Civil War soldier in the field, maybe you should consider whether or not women have nerve endings.

Being a parent and being a prosecutor is very similar, in that you NEVER ask a question you don't already have the answer to.

I love when a distant family member (of which, I have like over 100 FIRST cousins) asks me to paint something for them, then balk when I send them a commission invoice.

Charge family! Charge them double if they act entitled to your talent and time.

A gift is one thing, but unsolicited demands?
