Wagner's "The Flying Dutchman" with Opera North in Leeds. A well-intenioned production that didn't quote work. And a soprano who was missing the top couple of notes needed. Orchestra and chorus were on blistering form.

A rather wonderful concert performance of Bellini's Norma at the Opera Vlaanderen in Antwerp last night. They included the alternative bass aria by Wagner in the 2nd Act!

A whacky Adam's family style production of La Cenerentola at the Opera de Reims yesterday, but it worked. And it was well sung, especially by Beth Taylor in the lead role.

First night of a new production of Handel's "Orlando" at the Theatre du Chatalet in Paris. A few days short of the anniversary of the premiere in London 290 years ago. That Mr Handel is a genius!
