Igor has a heart of gold ... on a shelf in his shop. He's an almost helpful purveyor of dodgy potions & magic. Sold at bargain basement prices with suitable side affects. He also took in a gaggle of war orphans to help work the shop & start a thieves guild.

Looting or defeating and searching the "brain" could grant bonuses when dealing with traps and puzzles inside the dungeon. Or it could just have loot better suited for wizards. Defeating the heart room keeps the dungeon from moving or it is where the greatest treasure is. etc.
