After WW2, under the NHS it became a maternity hospital until the late 1970s. It was used as an Ambulance depot until the 1990s when it was sold off and subdivided into apartments.

In 1900 it became a Women's Hospital, specialising in Women's Health and staffed (Doctors, Nurses, Porters, Admin) entirely by women.
