Lutz's lab showed that directional lox sites work in vertebrate cells. Originally, the generation of the mutant lox sites was done by Albert et al. 1995: doi.org/10.1046/j.13... to allow for the integration of a single gene copy into the plant chromosome.

Got one trangene expressing IPSC clone after weeks of trying, finally grew enough to split it - sucked it right into the liquid waste 🙈
