Baseball, man.
Lots of opinions and numbers, mostly about the Red Sox
If Bregman truly has multiple 5 year offers on the table and his standing 6/156 with the Astros I feel like he would’ve signed already.

If he doesn’t return to Houston, I feel like he wants Boston, just on his terms.

If they don’t go past 4 yrs fine, but it’s time to move on a RH bat now.

I’ve never been big on Bregman this offseason but agreed, have to find some kind of RH bat to stick between Devers and Casas.

I’m glad, I am genuinely puzzled by fans that think adding one of those two would be a good allocation of resources.

Also, if the plan is to make them a 3B to push Raffy to 1B/DH, you’re essentially taking yourself out of the Vladdy sweepstakes next offseason. You can find a competent RHH with a significantly lower acquisition cost.

Just feels to me like Story 2.0. Pushed him off of his natural position at SS when there was no pressing need. They both hit RH so sure they balance the lineup but I have little confidence that either of them will live up to the contract that they get. Kind of like Trevor Story.

How could I forget the other top 10 prospect in baseball MIF we have in Mayer. Still think we need more infielders??

Why? Story, Grissom, Hamilton, Campbell, Valdez, Rafaela, Sogard, Meidroth isn’t enough depth

That being said, it would be incredibly funny to see Passan break a Soto to Boston and have to give credit to the people who “make up stories”

More just commenting on the need to solidify the rotation like Price did is all but exactly, you just need a presence at the top of the rotation and the rest of the rotation looks a lot better with everyone else down one peg.

They overpaid for David Price going into the 2016 season and it gave a young roster/rotation some credibility at the top.

Argue all you want about his tenure in Boston, you don’t win in 2018 without Price.

My top choice all along has been Fried. His arsenal and pitchability suggest to me that he will age the best out of the bunch.
