The argument was that the spread of Christianity in the early middle ages was facilitated by the aristocracy only when it was beneficial for them and not because of some religious or moral reasons. Ultimately, it turned out to be more often beneficial than not which is why Christianity spread.

The seminars presenter argued that there are plenty of examples in the early middle ages where rulers let pagans or heretics be even when they had the opportunity to convert them because converting them would not give the ruler any political benefit or increase their power.

Don't get me wrong, good comedy, personality, presentation, and way of explaining can attract more people to your YT video, but you can also get by on YT with just good history. On TikTok and Instagram you can't get away with 'just' that. You can't be 'boring' in a quick paced 1 minute format.

and, most recently, a tech company offering me a tour of their factory even though I am not a tech YouTuber. Of course, there's the usual sponsorship offers, academic talks, etc. which I often do but those are not 'weird'.

Where's my invitation to tour a brewery or asking me to a hockey tournament?

Multiple companies wanting to buy my channel, invitations to white supremacist movements in America & Britain (I don't think they knew I am Slavic), a weird Romanian anti-Hungarian movement, couple of Slavic supremacist movements, countless heritage/museums asking me to do free research for them ...
