What if instead of tearing it down it was turned into the Michelle Obama visitor center with an exhibit on all of the minority workers over the history of the White House?

As we see ANOTHER huge drop in the cost of curing tuberculosis, I am reminded that 1. drugs are not expensive because they're made of platinum or something, and 2. the fruits of activism are often harvested over many years. Thanks to all the folks who made this happen. www.stoptb.org/news/breakin...

A proposed new rule would limit international students on F1 or J1 visas to stays in the US of no longer than 4 years. This effectively means that intl. students will no longer come to graduate school here (time to PhD is 5-6 years). You can comment here:

Hi! Do I know anyone in biotech or medical engineering who’d be up to chat with my niece for a writing assignment she has?

Unsurprising but horrifying. Wherever there are people forced into crowded living conditions, there will be tuberculosis. Wherever people are dehumanized, there will be tuberculosis. prospect.org/health/2025-...

Hypothesis: modern newspaper Opinion sections generate short-term revenue via hate-clicks on Controversial Takes, but those same takes negatively impact long-term subscriber numbers.

Unfortunately, the former is easily measurable via online analytics tools but the latter is much harder to suss out.
Speaking for myself, the reason why WaPo & NYT subscription numbers have gone from 2 -> 0 in the last 8 years is not because I care any less about politics, but because both started publishing anti-trans opinion pieces and treating fascists with kid gloves even in the "actual news" sections.
There'a been a lot of media talk about how "the Resistance is dead" for which the evidence is Dem electeds aren't fighting and cable news and WaPo/NYT subscription numbers are down.

We should not overread into this one result, but consider: those might be the last Resistance's metrics.
