Niecephew day—spent the morning at a soda museum and saw some unexpected (and unexplained) characters. Now we’re geocaching for J before I run M to her audition for Newsies. Then we’ll go home and make fall snacks. Pretty awesome. #aunting #museumlife

My nephew took this photo of his sister at our nighttime exhibition as part of his assignment for the high school(!) newspaper. He submitted other photos for the article because he was told not to have people's faces without permission and he is a rule-follower, but this one is my fav. #museumlife

Today in #museumlife we ushered 130 sixth graders (in smaller groups) through all our spaces. Celebrating with my niece and her crew at the Gabby’s Dollhouse movie! We may be the only ones here, but we’ve been watching Gabby since 2021 and we love cats and crafts!

Here’s a little piece I stitched over the last few weeks—w/specialty stitches, metallic thread(tamed!), & beads it was a perfect distraction when I felt sad or stressed. It’s only 3.5” square. The pattern is Kathy’s Violets by Chatelaine & the fabric is Glacier by BeStitchMe. #crossstich #crafting

Dog sitting today & I don’t have a way to just let her be outside by herself so I have to walk her on a leash around the yard. Just now we went out for the third time & cut it short b/c my spit was freezing inside my mouth. We came in, she drank some water, & now she’s barking to go out.

Today in #museumlife I have escaped my attic office to soak up some vitamin D in our gardens while I do non-screen things. The bees are still happy in the flowers and every once in a while one buzzes by to say hello.

So my sister's family has a new rescue puppy and I have been ordained as her puppy godmother. Cookie is 4 mo, a gentle soul who likes sticks, digging in sand, supervising meal prep, and snuggling. And, of course, she's perfect, no notes.

We had to say good-bye to my sister's dog Coco today, a rescue who came into their home 6yrs ago. She was an anxious, doofy sweetheart, & even tho she wasn't my dog, she was my buddy. I will miss her & the endless loops of fetch she never tired of, until the last week or so. Good girl, Coco. Always.

So today (the next 10 days really, but today feels like the fulcrum) is going to be challenging, work-wise. If anyone has good thoughts or pics of things that bring you joy to spare, I would be happy to be their landing spot! Will start with one of my own: my joy-bringers!
