I'm just saying how Republican should have handed the situation, not advocating that that's the correct solution. But there's middle ground between "kill them all" and "welp that's over, who wants lunch?" that should be used for these situations.

No. We arrested a lot of the people who were there and that's good. But nobody who organized this faced anything. If Democrats did something similar every left wing organization would have been raided and stripped of their non-profit status.

We've never really done a reckoning. We didn't for the Civil War. We didn't for the Nazi plot in the 30s. We didn't for 9/11 or 2008. We certainly didn't have one for Jan 6 or the fake electors in 2020. I wish we would, if only to show that crime doesn't pay.

Patents have a limited life and have limited uses. If you need to recoup $1B+ for a drug with wide usage it's a lot easier than one that has a very small number of patients.

Then you have to build new manufacturing capacity which means really expensive equipment. Each pill is tracked from initial ingredients to when it's handed to you. Every test, every result, every person who was involved in producing that exact pill is tracked for like 50 years.

Let me start by saying $1000/pill is immoral. The ingredients cost 25 cents. You need to recoup the probably close to $1B needed to make it in the first place, counting the years of R&D and more years of testing and approvals.
