I love the women of the W, and I watch many games each year. But also I am well aware that the ABL existed before the WNBA, and played during actual basketball season, and the NBA acted to crush them and created the W to play only during the NBA off-season so as not to threaten the men's league.

Listening to Ezra Klein w/ Ta-Nehisi Coates, I heard grief for a political order that’s gone. Coates said: all people are equal. For me, equality means no society can claim to value children while denying health + dignity to their mothers.
