Same ‘Acid’ shirt, but now Mikiki’s precious Rick Owen’s sneaker boots are visible and their modified/hand-dyed (in tones of green blue white and black) tote bag is present at their feet. They are seated. The surrounding train car is grey.

To Be A Flamingo

Arjun sits in their inflatable flamingo costume. Eye holes at the base of the neck and a mouth hole to breathe from. The inflatable wings have black tips and our extensions of their arms. The head is not visible. Just an expanse of pink inflated latex. They are sitting on the edge of a pool Wearing the headpiece and wings and a hot pink matching latex singlet. Arjun floats in the pool on the back we see the inflatable wings and neck, head and beak of the hot pink latex flamingo, they’re human form submerged in the pool. The beak of the hot pink latex flamingo head dips into the pool and water ripples in concentric circles around it. Their clogs have a toe hole and leg extensions which are in the water. Their hot pink latex inflatable wings are cradling the head near the waters edge. Arjun as the flamingo constructed of hot pink latex floats in the middle of the YMCA pool. The wings, neck and head are all inflated and above the water. It appears as a symbol of a flamingo. An icon. A fetish object.

In a warmly Litt, white room with red and black velvet curtains and dark upholstered couches a tall white drag queen stands in contrapposto. They have a Shaggy asymmetrical Bob wig with a long tail, exaggerated, dark eye, make up and dark coloured overdrawn lipstick. They are wearing a long black evening cloak over a pale halter neck, chiffon gown, which is transparent from the waist down, revealing their underpants through the skirt. Their head is cocked to the side and the image, taken from a video still, catches them in mid sentence: speaking to an unseen crowd behind the camera. In their left hand they are holding a baking tray, which holds the ingredients of the amuse bouche course about to be distributed amongst the tables.
