About 4 months ago my dad was diagnosed with cancer. He's a fairly analytical person and I went with him for one of his infusions, and he printed out this giant spreadsheet.

He was tracking everything from sleep, to bowel movements, to urine, etc. It was all so detailed. So I built an app for him.

Six months ago, my dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Since then, he's been undergoing chemotherapy and attending regular appointments with his specialist. I recently joined him for one of these sessions and was amazed by his dedication to tracking his health.

Few things are better for your career than being known as a helpful person
@t3.gg said “show the world that you kinda know what you’re talking about”.
So I finally got involved and shared what I’ve learned.. I’ve been helping people on Discord servers @nextjs.org, @t3.gg and @codinginflow.bsky.social, and oddly enough I happen to know the right answers :’) feels good!

I professionally arrange other people's code blocks in pretty patterns while pretending to understand what they do.
I take screenshots and tell other people what's wrong with them

Remember when we used to go and look at all the different folks personal and blog sites and get inspiration for features and easter eggs for our own projects?

Back in the day before we all made the same site over and over?

Miss those days.

This is exciting. TanStack is becoming a brand that I trust when reaching for core components, and a modern,
maintained, performant form handling library with a great DX sounds like a dream.

Just learned that the creator of the Material Theme for VS Code has retroactively relicensed it as a commercial product, and started threatening everyone he can find who is using the previous version which was Apache licensed

Totally unrelated, I just published my first VS Code extension

It would honestly be a huge thing if this platform supported markdown. Code highlighting and links would already be good enough for me 🚀.

Probably just code highlighting 😂

It’s a @TanStack.com Christmas!… again!

Fun fact, I used to be a roofer at my Dads company. I learned to work hard, take pride in my craft and earn an honest living.

And that’s literally the biggest reason I get back on the roof every year to do my own lights, to honor his legacy. Miss you Dad!

TanStack Start is looking increasingly good. Tanner tells me the pieces are in place for single-flight mutations. One mutation which updates, and also reads the fresh, updated data with just a single round trip from browser to server 🚀

Cool stuff. This is a project worth watching!
