I could absolutely see tripping through a cord (nailed a few of those myself), falling into something, or etc. In the ICU it never happens essentially because they are way up and almost behind our monitor setup. I may need to go physically look and see where they are in some of the older wards.

There are supposed to be, but they certainly seem to get broken. Not sure if this is the only reason it happens though.

It seems that it is about 80% EVS cleaning the entire room after someone has gone, 5% accidental nurse/RT hit or equipment bump, 5% confused family thinking it's an RN call button, and 5% delirious patients. Pranks would not be tolerated.

We have a code blue button near the head of bed on the wall in all patient rooms for staff to be able to hit if they are alone seeing a patient and an arrest occurs. I've never been in a hospital without something equivalent, if slightly different. Usually it's housekeeping bumping them accidentally

Not as cold as when there's also no funding for the supplemental heating assistance this winter as well.

and if it was "purely engineered" it might be helpful for those with significant antibodies, perhaps even end-running some of the issues with Jehovah's Witnesses if it were totally artificial.
