@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Excellent article, Andrew. Campaigning remains the easy bit as always. Governing is another thing altogether.

@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Not looking promising Andrew for Starmer or Labour. Impossible to predict the future with three and a half years to go though and with a massive parliamentary majority.

@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Spot on again Andrew. It does seem that Starmer veers to the left or the right depending on the particular issue. Like Arsenal under George Graham popularity doesn’t matter to him if the team is ultimately successful.

@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Excellent appraisal, Andrew, of Starmer’s continuing troubles - “gnawing guts”!

@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social An insightful column as ever, Andrew. Leading the Labour Party in opposition is relatively straightforward. However as Wilson and Brown found leading a Labour government is fraught with dilemmas - and they were seasoned politicians.

@james.crid.land Hi James, reading of the success of Christian O’Connell in Australia, Dominik Diamond hosts the breakfast show on 89.9 The Wave in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Spot on Andrew. Good advice as ever. Refining Council Tax is such an obvious step.
August 24, 2025 at 12:21 PM
@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Very clear explanation, Andrew of how Labour could lose votes if not seats from the left as well as the right of politics.
August 3, 2025 at 12:04 PM
@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Spot on, Andrew. Starmer reinforces the archetypal view abroad of the British being measured and sensible in a chaotic world. This doesn’t address the impatience for action felt at home.

@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Great article as always Andrew. “Should she stay or should she go? If Rachel Reeves stays, there may be trouble. If she goes, it could be double." Says it all!

@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Measured and insightful as always Andrew. Labour need to realise that as the government they hold all the cards not Reform.
May 25, 2025 at 12:17 PM
@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Couldn’t agree more Andrew. A very long way to go until next GE. Plenty of time for government changes to kick in and for Reform to be exposed as amateurs.

Great Birmingham Run. Ideal conditions for running around the UK’s second city - sunny and cool. Earlier start than normal which made it even better. Thank you to all the organisers, marshals and volunteers not forgetting the spectators for making it such a great event.

@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Brilliantly set out Andrew. Easy to shout from the side-lines as Lib Dems and SNP have done for so long.

@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Excellent analysis as ever, Andrew regarding the week’s political happenings. OBR, restless Labour backbenchers and Trump. “Khaki is the new green.” Brilliant!
March 30, 2025 at 10:05 AM
@andrewrawnsley.bsky.social Excellent, Andrew. A clear explanation of the choices Labour faces - outward and inward.
