The DOJ has been working to scrub his name from the Epstein files. This is to give GOP members cover so they can vote in favor of releasing the Epstein files, knowing that the files won't get released because the DoJ will tie them up in new investigations & that DJT's name has been purged from them.

This is for show. Donald already asked the DoJ to open up new investigations into select Democrats and their possible ties to Epstein. These investigations would likely include freezing the release of some or all of the Epstein files due to an "active investigation."
