Excellent. This kind of racist newsroom bullshit is why I left being a staff writer at the LA Times to become a novelist and independent essayist. It is idustrywide.

Same for my son's paternal great grandfather, who was one of more than 1 million US citizens forcibly exiled to Mexico under Herbert Hoover for the crime of looking "Mexican" to racists. Julian was 10. The US tried to draft him, in Mexico, for wwii. They knew they'd sent citizens away.
