I understand the impetus, but this is just setting us up to have the same damn fight next year. And I don’t think the GOP will go for it even though it’s a laughably modest ask.

Yeah it’s a really stretched euphemism, but also possibly synecdoche…so like there’s a big category “looks like goes to gym” and “works out at home” is somehow a subset of that. Not surprising because we’re weird about bodies, but all of it means “you look fit” 😆

He's pretty much the youngest national name we have right now, so we're about to see what Millennial leadership looks like, which I hope is better. He's going to face a lot of obstruction and hate, and he won't be able to fulfill every campaign promise, but I do hope he can get some things done!

The main lesson was about linguistic profiling, and so we had to talk about the politics of who is assumed to be intelligible. Shows like 90 Day Fiance have a lot of second language English speakers, and so the choice of who to subtitle relies on such assumptions!
