nothing yet, but I read something about pds hosting on subdomains and it gave me pause on trying to migrate myself. I noticed your setup mirrors what I am hoping to do so just wanted to check! Thanks!

Curious, did you have any issues hosting the pds on a subdomain of the domain you’re using as a handle?

Thank you! Niche compliment indeed, but getting these right was a priority and I’m glad to hear that it’s working well for you. Always nice when someone notices the details that go into these projects :)

Yep - works great with Synology. That is one of my use-cases as well.

Now anytime I find myself annoyed by the enshittification of yet another formerly useful website, I can simply make and host my own thing and add it to my tailnet without worrying about TLS certs, opening ports on my router, or paying for servers. This new services feature makes it even easier.

One note from this migration: Claude has gotten pretty good at Svelte 5 syntax, and was very helpful with some of the grunt work on this migration. We're in the early days of using llms in our workflow, but combining the latest Sonnet 4.5 with a heavy dose of human review worked well for us.
