I read a good amount. Typically fantasy/sci-fi. I listen a lot too - some podcasts, history, economics, politics. I love space and science. 한국어를 공부한다.
This was a very interesting read, if only to see where I land wrt some of these questions.

Believe it or not, they didn't teach them to do that. The AI learned to do that all on its own

While getting rid of the very skillsets and knowledge that we would need to effectively fight in any conflict.

The amount of "blaming Democrats" I've seen is disgusting. If one party needs to cooperate with another to pass a budget, Republicans can't blame the people who they refuse to cooperate with for something that is their own failure!

Owe the bank a million dollars, that's your problem. Owe the bank a hundred billion? That's their problem.

Don't even have to imagine anything. A Vice President should never be trolling. Completely inappropriate way to use his office.

Not terribly impressed. Not a lot of conversation of what the culture of democracy looks like, what happened to it, what we can do to revitalize it. Yes, these democratic countries are having problems. We don't need another article complaining that everything is worse than it was - we need more.

The most interesting use of AI in videogames that I can think of: using mini LLMs for unimportant NPCs to have more unique lines when you interact with them. Haven't heard of anyone trying that though.

I wish they would be as principled as North Korea. Then at least I could know what to expect, and not just this non-stop choas.

Wait, discord is dying next? Ugh. Is there any good alternative for the next online space that is usable?

What is that supposed to be a picture of? Giant flaming lava rock fish?

The most interesting smart-home related article I've read talked about a guy using his bluetooth toothbrush as the trigger for his home to start his morning routine. Like, I get it. But there are some creative uses.

I loved his reply to being asked about this. Talk about being an easily-trigger snowflake.

Lets also awknoledge the irony of creating additional departments to focus on government efficiency when we already have things like IGs and the GAO that are literally already trying to do the things DOGE claims (and utterly fails at) to do?

Well, they must not have gone to university and math is hard.

I feel like the impact of universities is understated there - how much of an impact does the knowledge taught at universities have? Especially in a post-manufacturing economy.

They can't exactly come out and say they aren't ready because the government is trying to dismantle them. We should all be worried.

Wait, how can I get paid for this?

I definitely read this as Starship 9 is scheduled to explode tonight
