And so the current pressure campaign by this admin to bring the Americas in line is actually providing the incentives for the Americas to look elsewhere for a reliable partner. And contrary to the 19th century, there is a seemingly stable country that might stand at the ready.

As an anthropologist, I say with confidence that "civilizational erasure" is a term that carries no meaning apart from a nuclear war or climate catastrophe.
Immigration does not cause cultural erasure, because culture is not inherited. It is learned.
Like racism.
