yeaaaah, as someone who has sewn a few of her own clothes, it take significant effort and doesn't really end up saving time or money except that it gives you more control over style and fit. to that end: thrifting, embracing slow fashion, and learning to alter/mend to make it all last is key!
“Sewing your own clothes to avoid tariffs” seems like a good idea until you realize it’s very expensive, takes a ton of time, and just about every component — from fabric and thread to sewing machines — are made abroad. I do think this is a great time to learn how to mend clothes, though!
