I spent 4 years reliving The Great Migration, from 1919 to 1969, while #writing my book. My grandparents told me how factory wages pulled folks northward, but never spoke of the widespread bloodshed of The Red Summer that pushed them out of the South.

I wish I had those stories to guide me today.

For real. Remember how the dude who owns Little Caesars paid Rosa Parks’ rent for years, to keep her from being homeless? You don’t see us out en masse in this mess for many reasons beyond tired.

I have not yet published a book length work, but the LibGen database lists two of my journal publications as having been used to train OpenAI.

Although I have not yet published a book, Open AI has also trained on my copyrighted work. Grr.

I am old enough to remember how this worked in the 1960s.

My grandmother told me stories about how this worked in the 1930s, during the Depression.

Our ancestors remind us: We have done this before. Encourage each other to do it again.

Because this strategy works. #Target #DEI

1 in 3 nonprofits get more than 25% of their funding from the federal government. Services like Meals on Wheels or home health aides.

Who might be moved to action if they found this note on the door/web portal of the local service provider that they depend on?

Does your business use Bench.co for bookkeeping or taxes? Today, they announced their closure, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.

Plz reSkeet this info widely. 1000s of small business don't yet know we must scramble through year-end and tax season without the back-office support we counted on (and paid for).

What kind of damned recipe starts by “rendering rashers of bacon” for the sole purpose of sautéing vegetables? If you don’t have one of these little piggies in your fridge, I prolly don’t want none of your cooking no how. #BlackSky

I struggle with this notion. It is a false refuge for my current state of class privilege. It also points to there being more to life grinding, and asks me to face the things I miss as I spend most of my life working to exhaustion and dis-ease. (Image: card from Tricia Hersey’s The Rest Deck)

So, this happened here in Ohio on Friday. Yes, that really does say 61.7 inches of snow. Today, Ohio Gov. DeWine decided this was, an emergency, after all. More wind and snow is on the way.
