Back in Vegas for the holidays. I have decided I hate flying, that going forward I'll pull a Maddencruiser and do everything I reasonably can to avoid it. I don't think I need to go overseas for any reason and I can drive for four days each way if I really want to visit the East Coast. I'm good, fam

I feel like the Mariners dodged a bullet with Polo signing with the Mets. Let them roll those expensive dice that he can stay that good at the plate for two more years.

I'd maybe get more worked up about spewing money on a deal for an experienced but buh catcher with a buh bat if Knizner was going to play (barring catastrophe) more than 40-45 games this year. He's a seat warmer for the Mariners just in case nobody else pans out or falls into their lap as the #2 C.

The only way this trade makes practical sense is if the entire league quietly, suddenly formed a(n unreported) consensus that Harry Ford isn't a top prospect anymore, that he's slid into Justin Smoak reclamation project status, or that he's got some skeletons in the closet.

Right on cue I had a bad night of sleep, though at least this is happening once in a while now rather than 1-3 times a week.
For years I struggled to consistently get a full night's sleep. Getting 8hrs in a night was a minor miracle. Got a lot better last few months (with some work and dietary adjustments), but notably this month (including last night) I've slept *9+* hours in a night three (3) times! Feel better too, obv

They finally won their 2nd game of the season yesterday, but not before getting to 7 losses. They can salvage .500 this season I think, but I'm not sure Drew Valentine can survive the spring unless they go on an absolute tear before March.
With as little preseason bias as you can filter in/out, Loyola Chicago (135th on the standard ratings) is currently 276th. They certainly look like it too 🤮
Most people know you can (sort of) filter out preseason bias at my site. But here's a power-user feature, EXCLUSIVE to my Blue Sky followers: you can can specify a partial amount of preseason juice by using the "prephase=X" URL parameter.

Three years ago this guy was (and thought he was) such a big deal. Now he's going to the MLB wasteland that is Anaheim.
The Macy's parade appears to have wisely figured out that their best way to grab and hold viewers' attention nowadays is to just put old pop stars on all the floats and have them each do their own rolling concert along the whole route. We'll probably need to get used to this.
