Assume this is the old one? But surely Marx is in the new one.

That said, PC/CH relatively low on slang. Too many silvertail clients? Pauses for Sydney topography? Bazza Mc. he ain't. NB 42 Hardys may have been gruelling, but try eviscerating two memoirs from Nick 'The Honey Badger' Cummins. That was dedication.

Line betw hardboiled/noir is not one I can draw. But much of what is now termed noir, for me, isn't. Test: would it make a Warner Bros movie c. 1940? I am a huge PT fan (why did he die so soon). He's another of those (e.g. Chandler) who came from elsewhere and took a new look at where he was.

Every effin' one. Remember, I don’t read like a normal person. I read to find *citations*! He's not slang-dense but useful. Plus it's Oz slang. The interview, which I had overlooked, is v.g. too. I dunno, I find him a very sympathetic character (maybe it's age and sharing the diabetes and so on).

Actually, I do have a bit of a problem with "six-seven" as WOTY. Like many WOTY choices, it exhibits a bias toward words that are in the news at the time the decision is made, not taking into account the entire sweep of the year.

Thanks. I get so mixed up chasing down original posts. The lyrics, including Spanish an Yiddish, are gloriously nihilistic.
