Because we're battling on too many fronts at once.
Most people don't know how bad this system is & those that do are exhausted by EHCP, EOTAS, LA under-resourcing & underwhelming SEN/pastoral support in schools.
Academies seem to be flying under the radar too.
It's a mess.

Speedy reader, but also have got back into the habit of having multiple books on the go & reaching for one instead of my phone or the TV remote 🙂

Sell people hope & a promise to try to improve their communities & lives, rather than a slightly bluer shade of the same politics.

Sometimes a book sort of envelopes you & opens up new doors in your head to new perspectives on old thoughts & feelings. This is one of them.
Despite threading in some difficult topics, it never felt too heavy or indulgent.
Really loved it!

It's a great reminder that we're all in this together & working towards a common goal & the public value from good stewardship, flood protection, rich diverse ecosystems & reliable healthy food.
Superbly written, perspective shifting & endlessly insightful.

Farmers, as stewards of so much land, are vanguards of ecological impact. A book like this has a critical role in improving understanding of why we are so nature depleted & how we can recover.
James makes a clear & rational case based on experience & genuine love of the habitats he manages.

Imagine your folks not only knowing every bit of homework you've been set & if it has been done, but also getting hounded about it on the weekend 😅

... something the book has mentioned.
I wasn't a massive fan of the narrative connection of the water drops, because the story held strongly enough together without it.
Huge recommendation for this one. Shafak is a wonderful author & I will seek out more.
