Good info for short fiction authors looking to find whether their works are part of the Bartz v Anthropic class action
Many authors have searched The Atlantic's LibGen database of pirated titles to see if they are listed there. However, I've uncovered that authors of short fiction aren't always discoverable there.

Here's how I discovered more of my short fiction in the list. 1/

1. Here's the motion for preliminary approval of the settlement in Bartz v Anthropic class action suit. Anthropic will pay $1.5 billion, an "estimated gross recovery of $3,000 per Class Work" & destroy the two datasets of pirated works once litigation ends storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Good thread.
Some of the authors I follow (like @scalzi.com and @diane.dianeduane.com) have been posting a lot about the upcoming Anthropic settlement. It has now been filed to the docket, and I have looked it over (I do this sort of thing for a living). I’m sure a lot of writers have a lot of questions about it

Hey medical folks--working on an article about how it feels to practice medicine when maybe you can't quite trust the "new versions" of the CDC, FDA, and vaccine advisory board.

Send me an email with your thoughts and experiences. Anonymous okay.

A whistleblower revealed that DOGE put the personal data of millions of Americans onto a vulnerable cloud server.

If this data is leaked or hacked, the government could be forced to reissue every American a new Social Security number.

This should be a national scandal.

Just one day after warning the public, several of these workers were placed on administrative leave by FEMA.

Government employees shouldn't fear losing their jobs for sounding the alarm.

Trump's admin is driving us toward MORE preventable disasters, not less.
180 FEMA employees signed a letter warning that Trump's actions are putting us at risk of another Katrina-level disaster.

Slashing government programs & putting unqualified stooges in charge will be deadly.

In typical Trump fashion, he's taking our country backwards.

CEOs used to make like 20x the average worker.
In 2024, the average CEO earned 632x more.

The system is rigged.

RFK Jr. has desecrated federal vaccine policy, putting Americans' public health at severe risk.

He has upended CDC vaccine guidance and given authority to unqualified, anti-science quacks.

If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention.

RFK Jr. has completely destabilized our public health institutions.

The leader of HHS is politicizing medicine, spewing vaccine conspiracies, rejecting science, and leading us straight toward a preventable public health emergency.

He's taking us back to the 1800s.

More than 1,000 HHS workers sent a letter demanding RFK Jr.'s resignation.

The people who dedicated their lives to public health are warning us that Kennedy is "endangering the nation's health."

We need action NOW, before disaster strikes.

🚨 An environmental injustice we already knew but data confirms: children from marginalized communities in the U.S. attend the schools most exposed to heat waves. They’re often the same kids without air-conditioning at school — and very likely at home too, sources say
