👍 This is the first song on my "workout" playlist. So under rated.

Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this one! These guys are all represented in a good day fossil hunting in the Kansas Niobrara so this one hits home. I wish I had an entire wall mural of this. Well done!

Thanks for the reply. I was curious as the only place you can find Edestus in Kansas is a specific member that is also present in Indianna. If it was a different member than Kansas it would encourage me to seek it out and look it over, if there were an analogue of course.

That's pretty awesome! Do you happen to know what geological member this was found?

Congratulations! I can't imagine how rewarding it must feel after all of your hard work. Nice.

I see now. Good to know. Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it very much!

Curious, is there an easy to see feature to identify this as turtle jaw or are you able to identify it because you are so well versed in turtles? Thanks in advance.

Holy cow that is awesome! Finding this guy is just another day to you I am sure but that would make my whole year.

I think most people don't quite appreciate that these aren't just laying around everywhere like $10 whores....

This is the first social media account I have ever had besides Reddit so I don’t really know the etiquette. I appreciated the heads up though. I get it. Just didn’t even think about it.

You would shit tittle green apples if you went to work with me one day. I am a finish carpenter in new construction and several of my colleagues wear Birkenstocks on the job site every day. My toes reflexively curl every time I see them!

I just thought we could all use a little humor. What’s going on is absolutely terrifying. I didn’t even think about it being AI- but you’re right.

If those are teeth in there I wouldn't complain. I have boxes of toothless jaws as I am sure you do as well!

THIS COULD FOR TO BE A SEXY ONE!!! 👍🏾

Woah, is that a developing replacement tooth on the bottom leftish? Maybe the root is just missing but from the picture it looks kind of like it could be a replacement tooth which would make this find even better.

That is awesome! There is little more exciting than. seeing a pile of Ptychodus teeth just basking in the sun. I found 375+ mortoni teeth a couple of years go. I had literally had dreams about that exact scenario so in a very real sense it was a dream come true. Congrats to your colleague!

I love Proto's as well! Super cool looking fish and you can't swing a dead cat in the chalk without hitting a pectoral fin or two...
May 30, 2025 at 2:51 PM
I love Proto pectoral fins! They are relatively common in the Niobrara. In fact, I found a partial just yesterday. Complete ones are truly spectacular and an intact pair is a bucket list item.

Congratulations. That is awesome!

I actually love their pizza. For years, it was my go to meal after being out fossil hunting all day. We didn’t have one in my hometown, so it was like a real treat for me. Ridiculous, yes. But there’s a reason why it’s the fifth largest pizza chain in United States. Delicious!

But then there’s that very weird funky smell of wet chalk that is kind of unique. I know you know exactly what I’m talking about. I’m sure you’re having a blast and I wish you the best of luck not that you need it ! Hopefully I’ll be out in Gove County later next week.
May 3, 2025 at 1:10 PM
Looks pretty cold too! I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love going out in the chalk right after a rain. Wet bones and teeth just contrast so much more with the surroundings, especially the black bones of some fish species.
May 3, 2025 at 1:08 PM
Excellent!
May 3, 2025 at 12:34 AM
That is super cool! Are you going to be able to get skull out somewhat intact or is it all 'sploded? Hopefully I will be out in the chalk Saturday finding my own mosasaur.

Thank you for the reply.

That's awesome! I will definitely stop by the Sternberg next time I go to the chalk and check it out. I assume this is from the one that has been on display forever. I am likely wrong here, but was that the specimen that was originally Brachauchenius lucasi and then changed a few yeas ago?
