Perl stuff (ex-CPAN Testers, Labyrinth, Conference Surveys), ex-roadie (Ark, IQ, Prolapse, Cusp & others), love music, gigs, and playing board games. He/Him, Dad/Husband.
Just watched my BluRay edition of Gary Numan's 1000th show at The Electric Ballroom in 2023, and in the intro I spotted these two figures on the left; my mate JJ and me eating our chips, while waiting in the queue 😂

@garynumanofficial.bsky.social in Brum last night was outstanding, playing almost everything recorded around his Telekon era, celebrating 45 years of the album. The light show was a masterclass for any aspiring lighting designers. Obviously a difficult night, but the whole band gave everything 😎

They were great in Brum on Tuesday. Great album too 😎

Peter Hook & The Light at the HMV Empire, Coventry were on top form tonight. Shadowplay was the best I've ever seen them play it. The opening set of Get Ready was great, but the selection of JD & NO tracks for the second was perfect.

Great to catchup with @katiesdisorder.bsky.social too 😎

Later, before they ramped up the smoke again 😎
October 26, 2025 at 7:13 AM
I promise Carl was there, somewhere in the middle of all that smoke. At one point the smoke was in overdrive and you couldn't even see most of the front rows of the audience! 😂😂😂
A great night though, and a nice selection of classics. Enjoy tonight 😎

I have just spent an evening enthralled by this band from Brighton on their first UK tour.

If you're a fan of shoegaze with some gorgeous melodies give them a listen. Lovely folk too. Check out their bandcamp wintergardensband.bandcamp.com

A wonderful night out in Bristol, at The Fleece, with Throwing Muses. A nice set, including one of my more recent favs, Dark Blue. Looking forward to seeing them again in Brum in August 😎

Fantastic live band, wonderful people, playing some great progressive metal. Saw 4 of their 6 UK shows, but this one hit the spot on several levels. Looking forward to their next tour 🤘

Every Prolapse gig is a unique event and special, but this gig was my favourite of the 3 shows they did this year. And 2 new songs to delight us 😎

A much anticipated gig, and was a joy to see them performing again. A great setlist covering their entire career to date. May this be the start of a new era for them 🤞

3 formidable women from Indonesia playing some intense rock. Their first UK show, and I really hope they'll be back soon.

Have loved this band since the 90s, but never got to see them live, until this night. They were everything and more than I'd hoped. Such lovely folk too. Seeing them again next weekend 😎

Gray Tolhurst's band made it to the UK, and I wasn't going to miss them. Did this and the Exeter gig. Some great gothic post-punk. Seeing them again next month.

Had been looking forward to finally seeing them, having caught on during lockdown. Sadly had to play as a 3 piece, due to illness, but they more than made up for it. Superb show.

First saw them supporting JAAW, but this was the first time seeing them headline, and it was well worth it. Delicious post-rock from Manchester, from 3 absolutely lovely people. Debut album coming soon.

Nearly 2½hrs of prog magic. A couple of oldies, some rarities and best of all 2 new tracks, that sounded fantastic. Hats, Wings and Troika too for fine festive fun!

A great acoustic night of some of their best tunes, despite Tim feeling ill. A surprise addition to the set with Last Christmas, and one of my favourites Cinder Road

Despite being a fan for around 30 years, this was only the second, and sadly last, time of seeing them live.
The last UK show was suitably alive on the dance floor. My vantage point in the balcony had a great view though.
