Lily has no idea how she got this job. But people call her "ma'am" and they let her blow things up sometimes! It's cool. Think Jason Mendoza from The Good Place somehow getting hired as an agent of interstellar law enforcement.

Helix Das made something of a name for himself as a dashing gunslinger seducing people of all genders and doing all manner of mercenary work that somehow never managed to run *directly* afoul of the law. When the Earth Directorate started closing in on him, he somehow charmed them into hiring him.

Lark Moreno was the most famous cat burglar never heard of, until she tried a complex heist and annoyed her teammates so badly that they left her behind to get caught. But the Earth Directorate has need of her skills now, and she took their deal, determined never to see the inside of a cell again.

In his youth, Odysseus Rhames was a sort of intergalactic Indiana Jones, "liberating" items crucial to understanding of the universe. After some middle-age years of pedantic and uneventful professorhood, he found himself craving adventure again and accepted a job offer from the Earth Directorate.

Physically feeble, sharp-minded, and materialistic, hacker/gambler Jennifer Gale rebelled against her rich parents but always disdained hard work in favor of easy money until her luck ran out at the poker table and her debt trapped her into working for the Earth Directorate.

Another peril of the passive voice is that sometimes you sound like you're doing an adjective.

There weren't any obvious mistakes in mine, so I wouldn't have known it was AI slop if Bluesky authors hadn't already been complaining about it.

Actual video of my gorgeous hair, circa 2017? Platinum blonde, long, thick, with subtle sheer pink and purple streaks. Absolute PITA to wash.

This photograph of a local Target parking lot makes me smile evilly for a couple of reasons. I'll start wishing Target well again when they reinstate DEI. :)

You can speak with great authority, can you, of the sounds and smells of a night in the Amazon basin? What scientists are currently doing at the Amundson-Scott South Pole station?
I mean, I certainly didn't know that THIS was apparently going on there as of 18:20:05 today.

So, @steampowered.com got back to me at 11:30 pm Pacific time last night, telling me that they will release the hundreds of dollars' worth of games they're holding hostage (possibly thousands, given the timeframe) if I can tell them, I kid you not, the last 4 digits of a credit card I used IN 2013.
