"The Literature" is not marketing materials that you hastily looked up. There do exist actually useful and peer reviewed papers on the subject, and I think its worth actually keeping those links around to hop into conversations like this. Blogs from companies who would profit is not research.

I'll generally agree. I find the embedding portions of the LLMs more useful than any of the agentic steering portions. LLMs themselves are useful for extremely constrained systems where you don't let them waste anyone's time, which is not the place that people want to shove it.

And beyond where your words are, how do people access them? If the medium is the message, and the medium is the wires of raw pattern learning from prodding your mind through your attention, and the interface build to mimic 80s office culture, what is the message?

But its weird to consider the place that reading and writing in the cultural context. Writing as communication is conceptually atemporal. We can read the political writings of Plutach and the NYT all in the same physical present. And thats great if you are writing on dead tree artifacts.
