Anything to find common ground and common good has to be something that we should make an effort to grow.

but nowadays I’m all about anything that acknowledges community and friendship and small kindnesses to those we know well and those we don’t. So a once-a-month sweet with candles and singing seems a joyous thing,

With the way everything is these days, and tragedies both in the world and also, unfortunately, at home this week, it seems more important than ever to celebrate the small things. I’m actually not big on making a fuss about birthdays and that sort of thing,
