Part of the reason I quit teaching in the public schools was that my nervous system couldn't handle the shootings and shooter drills anymore. And my school made me pay for a key to lock my school room to keep my own students safe.

I still think every candidate from now on should have to pass the updated US citizenship exam (it's not a cakewalk) *and* show how a family of four with two minimum-wage incomes can afford all the basics (home, food, clothing, transport) PLUS healthcare (& they have to show the math). 🤷♀️

I spent 7 summers in Lake Luzerne, mostly in the 80's and 90's at the music camp. Great town; but as a kid I never thought about the politics. In today's climate, I can clearly understand your concerns...

Sure, that sounds great on paper. But real opportunities need to be offered by biotech companies to laid-off scientists. I'm married to one such scientist , and it's stressful, to put it mildly.
