Lovely to visit @akivaschool around #worldbookday2025 this week. The focus was A Boy From Baghdad @greenbeanbooks the kids had fun learning some Arabic. Y5 and Y6. The school studies Saving Hanno in Y6 for guided reading and have bought a set of books for class. Lovely!!

So proud that my shul, Alyth Gardens, held the 12th annual Ifftar last night; featured on BBC London news. Rabbi Hannah and Remona Ali, Writer spoke about Peace and Hope. Good to see our faith groups come together to study, pray, share food. I couldn’t make it this year. Photos from last year.

Great excitement! The Welsh edition of my YA novel Behind Closed Doors @fireflypress has arrived and it looks amazing. Huge thanks to @graffegbooks. Fifteen year olds Josie and Tasha are neighbours, not friends. When their mums let them down they become unlikely allies in a battle to survive.

Great literary lunch today at The British Library friends and writers of children's historical fiction. Penny Speller, Julie Sullivan and Julia Newsome. Julie and I also visited the exhibition Medieval Women in Their Own Words. Amazing exhibits. Thoroughly recommend. Now I have new books to read!

Seventh night Chanukah. Grandboys sleeping over for NYE. Went to a panto and then for burgers. Drove home thru Finchley and Golders Green spotting Chanukiahs lit in windows. Happy New Year everyone. Let's hope the hostages are released and Peace breaks out everywhere.

I had a lovely literary lunch in Cambridge yesterday with the wonderful and inspiring @adelegeras . We had a delish Italian lunch, put the world to rights and Adele was so encouraging about my WIP that I wrote all the way back to London on the train #writing #writingcommunity #writinginspiration

Wonderful Iraqi brunch with amazing artist, cook and writer, @lindadangoorcreativeliving and husband Frank. The food was amazing. Salad with amba (mango pickle) Reminded me of my mother in law. Silan with tahini, foul and egg and so much more.
