My two takeaways regarding this are
1) Retro knows how important atmosphere and solitude are to exploring in Metroid. Prime is their baby, they're not gonna fuck it up like this.
2) Even if this guy keeps popping up, there's nothing saying he'll remain bumbling the entire time. Growth happens.

My two takeaways regarding this are
1) Retro knows how important atmosphere and solitude are to exploring in Metroid. Prime is their baby, they're not gonna fuck it up like this.

[Sidebar] Another clear example is this Sony 2025 patent for on-screen controller overlay (img 1). No one would believe that it meant “owning” something so basic.
BTW, Sony’s VG patent portfolio is ~2.8x of Nintendo’s (img 2), betraying the myth that Nintendo is doing anything extraordinary.
