The art is really pretty, too!
The writing was really good and made me want to read more by Katie Kitamura. I don’t really like when books are written in first person, but in this one, I didn’t mind anymore very quickly. So yeah, definitely liked it and I understand why so many have thought it would win the Booker prize.

I kept thinking of the movie poster for “The Cabin in the Woods”, which, in my opinion, doesn’t fully fit the movie, but it would suit this book very well.

I kept thinking of the movie poster for “The Cabin in the Woods”, which, in my opinion, doesn’t fully fit the movie, but it would suit this book very well.
At the start I thought the characters were a bit too stereotypical but I ended up not minding later. Being in their heads was interesting and I liked how their trauma and mental health issues were included.
The ending felt rushed, but it was satisfying enough.

The last episode was very satisfying. A lot of the series was predictable, but in the last episode, there were moments that surprised me. Was right about who was going to be king, though. I do love that k-dramas often give you something like an epilogue and you find out what happens after the end.
