Turns out this one wasn’t for me. I found Adam kind of annoying. I also didn’t like the dynamic between the characters, where one is really pushy and the other insistently saying no, and the turnabout to falling in love just wouldn’t make sense to me in this one… :\

I re-read “Nagahama to Be, or Not to Be” one before reading the second and I love both so much. Issa and Nagisa are the epitome of two idiots in love! This (now) series really is one of the best out there! Really heart warming and fun and the boys are really special. Overall just so amazing.

Finished reading “How I Met My Soulmate” 1-6 and it was pretty good. Sometimes it has the chance to get really angsty and dramatic, but even if it doesn’t, it’s still good. I like seeing how the main couple navigated their different approaches to love. Plus, bonus points for the college setting.

It took me a minute to get into the first book, but by the end I really enjoyed it, and I liked this second book a lot, too, even though it’s kind of a bridge between 1 and 3. I still don’t think the series reinvents the wheel, but what it does, it does very well, so I have a lot of fun reading.

I vote for this type of best friend to be the main character.

I am currently reading “How I Met My Soulmate” and “Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with you” kind of in tandem. I read one vol of one series, then one of the other, then back to the first. It’s kind of interesting, because in both of them you have several love interests for the main heroine.

I don’t know if it was because of the name or whatever, but I was surprised by how good “Flip Flip Slowly” actually was. It has very good vibes. Chill but also melancholic and more on the serious side? There were a bunch of impactful panels and a lot of attention to detail in the art, too.

I (re-) watched “Foundation” and the show is basically tailor made for me. I love space opera and especially the ones which involve a lot of politics and have a big scope with different planets and cultures. My absolute favorite is “The Expanse”, but this one is definitely a close second.

I haven’t decided what book to read yet (probably one of the sci-fi ones, though), so I read some manga!
I always love “Pet Shop of Horrors”, all the stories are so good, and “I wanna be your girl” was also great with lots of character development!

I’m having that full closet but nothing to wear situation, only with books. I really want to read but I don’t know what. It’s really making my head explode…

“SHWD” had a lot of potential, I would have liked to read more and dive deeper into the lore, but there is only the omnibus (I think?). It was great to see a different body type. You don’t see muscly women in manga that often and then they are usually meant as gimmick/joke which obviously sucks.

This one, I really did not gel with... I really didn’t like one of the main characters. I know he is supposed to be innocent and adorable, but to me, he seemed dumb (sorry!). Also, the story felt kind of underdeveloped. There were several plot points, but none of them got really explored fully :(

Read the much hyped “About a Place in the Kinki Region” and it sometimes made me feel a bit unsettled, but I was never fully creeped out. I think the individual (mixed format) stories were good, but the overarching one felt kind of lacking. I did like piecing everything together though.

Today I read “Futarijime Romantic” and it was pretty cute, but I’m not surprised, that it only has three volumes. I felt like the story starts at a place and moves at a pace that only left if with one trajectory and very little potential for future storylines? But the three volumes were fun, though.

Oh, I really liked “Even if There's No Rainbow Tomorrow”! It’s a really nice story about caring for a person, not fixating on gender or gender expression and how people are not just one thing. The art is also really pretty! I hope we can get other works by Noriko Kihara translated, I want more!

Finished the third “Lord of Mysteries” novel 🙏 it’s kind of a shitty one for me, because Dunn is my favorite, but you know… anyway, I loved the books so far, but before I continue reading online, I think I need to read the nine other books that I have on my list... Will rewatch the donghua, though!

Just finished “Idol I” and it was fine. A kind of low stakes show for when you just want to relax. The epilogue was the cutest though. If the whole series had had that kind of energy, I would have absolutely adored it. Still, wasn’t bad and I like the effort they put into the idol paraphernalia.

Manga I read the last few days. They are all really good, but out of those specific volumes, “Omega Megaera” was my favorite. It is omegaverse, but it’s really about (gender) politics, family drama and intrigue. Also, no spicy scenes. It actually has a bit of a handmaid’s tale vibe to it.

I really liked reading vol 2 of “You Might As Well Be the One”. The series is definitely growing on me. Ichika has great friends and I’m kind of looking forward to Arata throwing a wrench into things. Also, Arata looks and acts 100% like I would imagine a manga Arata to be like lol

And I read “Indomitable Zono”, which I feel like fully lives on the characters. The story isn’t that groundbreaking, though it does have a character that defies gender stereotypes, but the two main characters are really cute together. Zono is kind of like a cat, which I liked. A nice short read.

So, I watched season 2+3 of “Invasion” now. There might be a fourth, but I’m not holding my breath, it’s been a minute since s3... Anyway, s1 I really enjoyed, in s2, I liked some povs but in s3, ALL plot points felt kind of undercooked even though everyone was finally together :\

Read “Apple Children of Aeon” and it fully felt like I was reading an old folktale. It was really immersive and kind of eerie in parts, too. I liked how it ended, too, because it just felt very fitting, considering what they are dealing with.

I wanted to read something short, so I went with “Contrast”, because it kept popping up on people’s favorite lists. It was a nice, cute story, but it wasn’t anything new, so didn’t blow me away. I haven’t really read a BL that I really super fell in love with in a while, kind of sad about that ㅠㅠ

Finished “Lord of Mysteries” book 2 and this one has a bunch of stuff that wasn’t in the donghua (yet). Also, the novel just makes so much more sense and the connection between things are much clearer, which is honestly nice because I don’t ever feel lost or like I have to accept unclear narrative.
