don't mind me I'm thinking out aloud those ideas which I know I'm not the first to think of. just shooting my arrows into the internet, seeing where they land (or even if they do land lmao).

is there a history of such formations of the body? if so, how have they appeared throughout time? and how has colonization affected that? how do such effects persist till today? above all, what can we do to grant livability for marginalized gendered bodies and sexual expression in m'sia?

anyway I'm currently reading butler's gender trouble (after putting it off for the longest time given its supposed difficulty, of which isn't that bad tbh) and foucault's history of sexuality; both definitely helped to frame my mind towards my inquiries earlier

any protection right? but we treat heteronormativity as if it's an endangered animal that must be protected and safeguarded under a supposed naturalness to it. but why??

a possible history of this concept of marking songsang across time? same goes with normal too. why is there an immediate deference to it? as if it's an infallible ahistorical concept (which is certainly not?). and what is so distressing about homosexuality that it warrants oppressive responses?

where everything feels at once promising, as more people continue to fight for justice and equity; but also hopeless, as right-wing authoritarianism, capitalism, heteropatriarchy still hold the reins of our world, and burn us all to ashes.

well, at least this song ends in a hopeful tone.

what I find impressive is that pharoah and his band could condense life, especially of its oscillating order and terrifying chaos, through the language of music all within 32 minutes, and it still sounds GREAT. for better or worse, the energy of this song still holds true in today's torrid times...
